Shine a Light of Hope

Dear friends and supporters of Light of Hope,

As we hope you are aware, the 13th Annual Shine a Light of Hope Gala is just 16 days away. Beginning at 6:00 pm Friday, April 17th at the Golden Valley Country Club it will be our privilege to come together as we raise funds in support of Light of Hope’s general operating budget. If you haven’t done so already, please go to to purchase your tickets today. The evening will not be complete without your presence.

Throughout the cocktail hour (6:00 -7:00 pm) guests will have the opportunity to purchase Mystery Boxes, buy chances to win our fabulous Heads or Tails prize, a week’s stay in Cabo San Lucas, visit our information room and sign up to attend one of our pre-set price Hope Gathering parties.

Dinner and the formal program begin at 7:00 pm. We are thrilled to have national gospel recording artist, Tonia Hughes, serving as our emcee and musical guest. Dr. Verna Cornelia Price, CEO of The Power of People Consulting Group and Founder and President of Girls in Action will be this year’s speaker. Throughout the evening you will learn about Light of Hope, its mission, and come to know more personally the girls who call Light of Hope home.

The gala offers a unique opportunity for Light of Hope to tell its story and to invite new people to join us in shining hope into the lives of girls who have been abandoned, neglected and tossed aside. To inspire people to join in the good work being done to educate and raise up young woman who will be change agents ready to make a difference in their lives and their communities. It is amazing what happens when people are personally invited to partner with others to do good in our world. Please consider purchasing a table and inviting friends, co-workers, fellow church members, neighbors to join you for the evening.

If you are interested in helping in other ways, please consider donating gifts, gift cards, sporting and/or event tickets, jewelry, etc. to be used in our Mystery Boxes. Items may vary in value from $25 – $1000. You may contact Valerie Hoffman at to make arrangements to have your donations picked up. All items need to be to Valerie by April 10, 2015.

NEW THIS YEAR: HOPE GATHERINGS. Three pre-set price parties at fabulous venues around the Twin Cities offer guests and friends a unique opportunity to support Light of Hope while treating themselves to a wonderful night out. Sign up at the same time you purchase your ticket or the evening of the event. Spaces are limited. Hope Gatherings are also a perfect alternative for those who are unable to attend the gala but still want to support Light of Hope. Party prices range from $50 – $75/person.
